Mental Health Resources

As a Â鶹AV employee, when you or your family members (your dependents and permanent household members) need helpful guidance, problem assessment, short-term counseling, and/or referral to local resources, our Employee Assistance Program (LifeMatters) is available to assist you. Please refer to the following webpage for more information: /benefits/lifematters-eap.

LifeMatters’/Empathia’s counselors are available every day, 24 hours a day, to discuss employee life needs and the needs of their family members, with up to three (3) free sessions on a per problem basis. Counseling assistance is confidential in accordance with all applicable laws. If additional assistance is needed, the counselors will then provide referrals to employees and family members, taking into consideration the employee’s preferences, medical plan and financial circumstances.

Human Resources has partnered with Calm to provide state-side employees access to Calm’s diverse content library offering resources to suit your schedule and needs. Explore guided meditations and specialized music playlists to help with stress and focus, mindful movement video and audio, relaxing Sleep Stories, tailored content for children, wisdom-filled masterclasses led by experts, and much more.  You can view a brief video of Calm features by selecting , or create your account and get more information here. Employees with Kaiser Permanente as their health plan provider already have access to Calm and may sign-up directly through Kaiser.

Reporting COVID Cases and Potential Exposure

On February 3, 2025, the CAL-OSHA COVID-19 workplace regulations under California Code Section 3205 expired. As a result, Â鶹AV is no longer required to conduct and record contact tracing.  Employees and students will no longer receive notifications of close contact exposure.
