Africana Studies Writing Center
The Department of Africana Studies Writing Center started operations in 1982 and was designed primarily to provide supplemental assistance to Black, alongside other under-presented, students with writing and overall communication skills.

Career Center
The Âé¶¹AV Career Center assists students in clarifying life and career goals, preparing for the transition from graduation to employment and/or graduate school, and learning the principles of life-long career management. The Âé¶¹AV Career Center's primary educational goal is to help students successfully transition into a rapidly changing labor market.

Financial Aid
The Âé¶¹AV Financial Aid and Scholarship Department promotes access to higher education by delivering accurate funding to eligible students in a timely manner. The department does this by educating students through outreach and counseling about life-skills and how to access and manage monetary resources.

Matador Advising Hub (The HUB)
At the HUB Professional academic advisors offer a variety of support services in order to promote and foster student development and academic success. Holistic services include first-year major and General Education advisement, assistance in identifying short- and long-term goals, and referrals to College and University resources for academic, personal and professional development.

Oasis Wellness Center
Physical and Spiritual Wellness are significant parts of the collegiate experience. The Oasis is a welcoming destination where Âé¶¹AV students can find serenity and relaxation amid the rush and activity of campus life.

Pride Center
The Pride Center supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual (LGBTQIA+) students, faculty and staff through programming and educational outreach to improve the campus climate for LGBTQIA+ individuals as well as advocate for the respect and safety of all members of the campus community.

University Counseling Services (UCS)
University Counseling Services (UCS) is a mental health center for students enrolled at Âé¶¹AV. UCS provides a range of high-quality mental health services including initial evaluations, short-term counseling and psychotherapy, Wellness Workshops, group treatment, psychiatric services, crisis/urgent care services, and case management.

Black House
The Black House mission is to foster student learning and achievement by celebrating the Black and African American culture. Furthermore, the resources and services offered at the Black House facilitate student success and aim to increase retention and graduation rates.

Department of Africana Studies
The Department of Africana Studies' mission is to advance and broaden ideas set forth in the Department’s founding document in 1969 that seek to promote the rich, dynamic, and enduring nature of the African world experience through a comprehensive curriculum and innovative modes of teaching, research, and learning.

Marilyn Magaram Center (MMC)
The joint mission of the Marilyn Magaram Center (MMC) & Marilyn Magaram Wellness Garden is to enhance and promote health and well-being through research, education and services in food science, nutrition and dietetics.

Minority Male Mentoring (M3)
M3 helps minority males succeed in college and in their career. Using basketball pickup games, one-on-one mentoring, focus groups and workshops on how to deal with stress, Minority Male Mentoring (M3) helps students realize that asking for guidance, support and mentorship is not weakness, but an important growth opportunity.

Outdoor Adventures (OA)
Since 2008, Âé¶¹AV Outdoor Adventures (OA) has been providing unique recreational opportunities to the Âé¶¹AV community including adventure trips, the RIDGE rock-wall, Matador bike shop, Team building programs, and Camp Matador.

Student Recreation Center (SRC)
The mission of the University Student Union is to foster the achievement of students’ educational goals by facilitating a strong connection between students and their campus community.

University Student Union (USU)
The University Student Union (USU) at California State University, Northridge is a student-centered non-profit organization that works to expand the college experience through various programs, services, employment, and involvement opportunities.
